These are antique bread pans from an old Maine bakery. There are 14 of the larger pans, which made 4 loaves at a time, & they each measure 22&12"L X 10&12"W X 3"H, & the smaller pans which made a single loaf of brown bread, each, are 4&3/4"H & 4&1/2" in diameter, at the top. They make great knick knack shelves! I had an artist paint on the large & small pans in the photo (those two are for sale, as well, for $20-)-but they aren't included with the other lot of pans. Two large framed prints Svenska Vaxter (Swedish Flora), 38" x 27" botanical mid-century.
These are very attractive, decorative prints from mid-century of earlier antique Swedish botanical prints (lithographs printed in Stockholm). All identifying info printed in Swedish.
Condition is very nice - frames are clean, no stains or odors, one print has a crack in the lower left corner of the glass, can be replaced however does not distract from image.

This is a watercolor from one of America's foremost artists, Edward Howard Betts (1920 - 2008) of Kennebunkport, Maine.

Edward H. Betts was a member of the National Academy of Design and the American Watercolor Society, and was a professor emeritus of art at the University of Illinois. He held a BA degree in History of Art from Yale University and an MFA in painting from the University of Illinois. Born in 1920 and brought up in Yonkers, he attended summer sessions at the Art Students League from 1935 to 1942, and as a full-time student there from 1946 to 1948, joining the University of Illinois School of Art and Design in 1949.

Betts has been represented in virtually every important national exhibition, including major surveys of contemporary American painting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, as well as other national exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Brooklyn Museum, Denver Art Museum, San Francisco Art Museum and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. His paintings have been included in international exchange exhibitions in Japan, Brazil, England, Mexico, Australia, and Canada.

He has received more than seventy exhibition awards, is a three-time winner of the First Altman Landscape Prize at the National Academy of Design and seven awards at the American Watercolor Society, including two Silver Medals of Honor. His work is represented in sixty public and corporate collections, such as the Fogg Museum of Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Portland (Me.) Museum of Art, Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company, Continental Grain Company, Prudential Life Insurance Company, and Tupperware International.

In February 1983 American Artist Magazine featured Betts as one of fourteen "living legends" in American Watercolor. He has written Master Class in Watrcolor, Creative Landscape Painting, Creative Seascape Painting and Master Class in Water Media, a revision of the earlier Master Class.

Betts is listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Art.

Egyptian Papyrus painting framed! (South Portland) $50

This is a one of a kind piece of artwork from Egypt. It is hand painted on papyrus, depicting "The body of nut. Set into the display is a quote describing the meaning of the painting.
"18. The body of Nut, who is said to have swallowed the sun each evening and gave birth to it each morning, is shown with her naked curved body stretched to form the arch of the heaven."
The detail in the painting is incredible. The origional frame has approximately 3 3/4" chips in it, unnoticable from a distance greater than 3 feet. If you are very interested in this piece and would like a new frame, we can talk about replacing the frame etc.
You CANNOT find pieces like this everyday!
