Homebrewing Club - Farmington area (Farmington, ME)

I've been into homebrewing for a little while now, learning all that I can and slowly increasing the size of my brewing system. I have been doing a lot of reading online and find that most people say they credit the majority of their homebrewing experience and knowledge to their local homebrew clubs. Another search showed that no such club exists in my area (I live in Wilton, work in Farmington).

I am toying with the idea of starting a club if there is enough interest. I'm posting here to see just how much interest there may be. I'd be starting small...doing a group brew at first. There is room in my yard for a couple people to setup (if you don't mind braving the cold.) I have a grain crusher and have built a mash lauter-tun which all would be welcome to use.

Anyway, shoot me an email if you have any interest in homebrewing or a homebrewing club. Eventually I would like to progress to regular meetings and attending events/brewery tours/etc.

Hi moms I just thought I would share some good info with you. Recently my family was stunned with my 14 year old daughters diagnosis with diabetes.You can only imagine what a failure I felt like. Let's face it my years of poor food choices and overeating was now causing my family to suffer. After looking at my family as a whole unit of bad eating habits and off of the charts in weight I decided it was my responsibility to do something. I was looking for something that would help the whole family be healthy and provide support for my daughter in this difficult time.

Anyway I came across this local professor's diet online (http://9thlawdiet.com) and our dietitian approved it for my whole family and daughter. The reason I am sharing this is because the diet is free, super simple, meal plans, grocery lists and is working! My daughter has now lost 6 pounds and after I weighed in this morning I am down eight. I know how hard it is to be healthy but we need to fix our bad habits so that our children do not suffer.
Anyway happy new year to all and if you are interested it is really fun for the whole family, even funny videos of the professor on you tube!

I'm Sandy from Salt Lake

I've decided to post an ad here to return a favor I received a little over a year ago. I gained a lot of weight after having 3 kids and I decided to lose weight initially because I wanted to see if I could do it. I found this free local group in Salt Lake here on Craig's List. I had never once tried a diet before. I contacted the group through the ad and they set me up with a diet buddy who also wanted to lose some weight too and they also gave me some advice and tips.

I LOVE CAKE!! Keeping in check with myself has been challenging and I do have my days where I am bad but always jump back on. I lost 4 pounds my first week and .05-5 pounds every week after that. It's taken me almost 1 year to lose 88 pounds. I have been maintaining my weight now for only a few months. Losing was a lot easier than maintaining because now I have to try to balance eating. I sleep better, breathe better and look better. My buddy and now friend (Erin) helped me lose weight by keeping me accountable. Thanks Erin!!!

Oh! I almost forgot! If you would like to be set up with a buddy reply to this ad and when another person writes in I will set you up with each other so you can chat, email and IM with each other just like I did. Also once every 1 or 2 months we get the whole group (there are around 12 of us right now) together and go out to lunch or dinner and share ideas).

I'm looking to start a writer's group in the Bangor area for aspiring writers of fiction and poetry. My hope is the group could meet twice monthly for critique of short stories or sample chapters, and could use one another as a sounding board for new ideas and inspiration. Home business mastermind group (Portland and beyond)

Hello Cl'ers, I am looking to form a home business mastermind group. Actually I really would like to form several throughout the state. This group will focus on a home based business, as well as the law of attraction and the spiritual aspect of marketing.

My personal mission statement is:

"To help those who are motivated enough to help themselves reach or exceed their financial goals and dreams. This is accomplished by working together in harmony for the good of all."

I would love to have several groups going statewide and beyond so I am focusing on building 2 teams, or subgroups in Portland and mmaybe the Rockland or brunswick area for now.But please feel free to respond of you are not form these areas and I will try to set something up for you, or you can set it up yourself.

If the above mission statement appeals to you, then I invite you to check out the business program the group will be focused on. If you are still interested, please reply with your name and location and we can put our heads together and figure out where to go next.

I am especially interested in people who want to use their leadership skills and run the meetings for their team at their home (or another location like a coffee shop or something).

Hello everyone!

If you dread having to get up in front of others to present or if you dread having to respond to questions during meetings, you're not alone! Blueberry Hill Toastmaster's is a fun and supportive group of like minded souls who get together the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month to practice their public speaking skills and have fun, yes fun, while they're doing so.

We meet at Unum's headquarters building and our next meeting is Wednesday, December 17th, at 5pm.

As a guest you are free to sit back and observe our meeting. There is no requirement to participate, although you are more than welcome to participate during our informal Table Topics portion of the meeting.

Don't wait for your manager to suggest that you visit us, take the initiative to come on your own! You'll be so happy you did!

Indoor field hockey (Portland/Gorham)

A group of us has been playing indoor field hockey in Portland, and we are about to start our winter/spring sessions in Portland and Gorham. We're looking for players for the following times/locations: Saturdays, 5:30-6:30 pm; Riverton Community Center, 1600 Forest Ave., Portland; Gym with rubber floor; Dates: December 20 - April 25; Cost: $35 per player for the whole season Thursdays, 7-8pm; YourSpace Sports, 215 Narragansett St., Gorham; http://www.yourspacemaine.com/index.htm; Turf field; Jan 8-April 30; Cost: $7/person/week (may go up or down, depending on final count); payments are monthly. ******A bit about our group: We're mostly in our 30s and 40s and are playing field hockey because we love it and want to have fun while getting some exercise. Our group is open to anyone regardless of age or ability and runs the gamut from people who last played 15 years ago in high school and/or college, to people who have been playing regularly since getting out of school. Many of us are competitive, but the emphasis is on the fun aspect.
