This lamp would make a great holiday gift! This Aladdin Type A lamp is in very good shape. It has a clear glass body and chimney, with no soot marks. The wide wick is intact. The wick control screw is labeled: Mantle Lamp Co, Nu-Type, Aladdin, Model A, patent pending, Chicago ILL, made in USA. Aladdin lamps were popular because of their advanced design which provided 4X the light of other kerosene lamps of the time. Aladdin started their business in 1909; this lamp is likely from 1932 or 33. It is 2 feet tall and has a 6" base. Unlike other lamps you may see on the internet, all parts are intact. However, you can buy parts on the web. For more information on these lamps see http://www.aladdinlamps.info/modelA.htm. Cash only sale.
