condition: good
size / dimensions: 24" x 16" x 11-1/4"
UNIQUE Antique Boy Riding Two Dolphins cement/composite stone fountain – c1920 England.

In good condition with obvious signs of age (i.e., over the past century it has developed a terrific patina). Originally a fountain (with water spewing from the dolphins’ rostrums [beaks/mouths]). According to the best info I could find, I believe this was made in England c1920 and is crafted from cement/composite stone. Very heavy.

Approximate measurements:

Height: ~24”
Width at widest point: ~16”
Depth: ~11-1/4”

I could not find an identical original/antique piece during an online search—however, if interested, you can buy a new replica from soothingcompany.com that comes as a complete fountain in 39 colors/finishes for $2,031.75. On 1st Dibs, a similar one (with a boy and a dolphin) listed for $1,680 and sold for an undisclosed price; another similar, taller (42”) one in terracotta of a boy and one dolphin is currently for sale for over $10,000; and a smaller one (17.5”) of three dolphin spouts is so worn you can hardly tell what it is—is currently listed for $2,700.

Since purchasing this twenty years ago it’s been inside in my office (I used to study wild dolphins) but is made to live outside and would look terrific nestled in a garden. I love this piece but need to part with most of my belongings. I hope it will go to an appreciative home.

$950. Selling due to dire necessity. I genuinely thank you for your support.

Feel free to ask any questions.

To be picked up in Rockland, Maine (on the south end near the YMCA). I can help you load it into your car (it’s quite heavy).

Cash only, please.

Many thanks for looking!
