RARE Charles EAMES Herman MILLER Mid-century ROSEWOOD and chrome DCM** chair

Beautiful iconic MCM chair in good condition, especially considering its age (50-70 years). Comfortable to sit on (supports the back; forms to your body), sturdy, and gorgeous to look at. Clearly marked on back: “Designed by Charles Eames Herman Miller Zeeland Mich.”
According to eames.com: “In the later 50's the Rosewood versions were released and these command a high desirability value as they were moderately rare and far more expensive at the time.”
**DCM stands for: Dining Height (D) Side Chair (C) on Metal (M) Rod Base. (There were also shorter, LCM (lounge) chairs produced.)

Measurements:

Height of chair: ~30”
Height of seat: 18”
Width of seat: 19-1/4”
Depth of seat: ~16-1/2”

Imperfections include: a nick on the top edge of the back, a lighter area on the front of the backrest, some rust/pithing on the chrome, and a few minor scratches (please see pics).

As of 15 May, I could not find a rosewood DCM listed on eBay except for a gorgeous set of ten in pristine condition for $25,000. (There are scratched-up DCMs in other types of wood for $1,250 [+$125 shipping] and less). A near-pristine rosewood DCM (with a few nicks, scratches, and light splotches) is for sale on 1st Dibs for $2,500. And Chairish has no rosewood chairs; just a pair of “Bentwood” DCM chairs for $6,800 and a set of seven generic “wood” DCM chairs for $6,800.

$950. Selling due to dire necessity. I genuinely thank you for your support.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

To be picked up in Rockland (on the south end near the YMCA). Cash only please.

Many thanks for looking!
