These were much desired by mid-century hostesses, and still work for today’s entertaining scene. Compartments provide space for appetizers, munchies, a sandwich, a drink, whatever bites appear on a buffet. Glass marble balls anchor each built-in handle on trays which measure 10” x 6”.
All of the pretty scalloped edges on these trays are in fine condition – no chips of cracks. They are quite heavy ( each one weighs 1 pound 10 ounces!), so far more substantial than a paper plate. A few charming natural bubbles are original to manufacture and confirm the 1950s age of these glass pieces.
Sometimes old ideas turn out to be pretty good, and these trays deserve a return to the spotlight. Start a collection, or add to your existing stack. Cash only, with pickup near downtown Rockland.
