1977 Valiant 40 (functional/ cruisable project) - $25,000 (Midcoast)

This boat will not be for everyone. But if you know what you are looking for, and want a phenomenal blue water boat and roomy cruiser at a good price (even after you put some work in), this Valiant 40 may be for you!
A substantial rebuild/ refit is in progress, but the boat had been sailing and cruising the past (21' and 22', we did not launch in 23') two seasons as the project has progressed.
Much has been done, most of which was done well and professionally. Substantial structural improvements/ repairs have been made to keel, chainplate knees, deck and cabin top/trunk, re-power, new fuel tank, new water tanks, significant electrical work (including Victron 3kw inv/charge, wire/ fusing appropriately sized for that and ready for a lithium bank) , cosmetic work. Most of the interior is there, but needs finishing. Radar/ plotter, wind and depth, Raymarine autopilot with type 2 ram, Rigging is in good shape. Sails are serviceable with 2 mains, a jib, a genoa, and a staysl (inner stay in not currently installed, but newer roller furler included). Natures head. Pressure water, foot pump fresh at galley, salt water foot pump at galley.
Tons of parts/ spares/ components that are not shown. Though not shown, doors and salon table are present and in good shape. Bimini and dodger are present as well, in less great, but serviceable condition. Helm has been rebuilt and awaiting reinstall.
Many more details available. She is not turn key, but has been used extensively over the last two seasons on Penobscot and surrounding Bays. This old girl is solid and will serve you well!
