Would you like to Share or Teach your passion and talents and get paid $15-$18 an hour?

We are looking for Teachers/Instructors for Sacopee Valley Adult and Community Education (SVACE) Hiram, Maine. Our Enrichment program is expanding and we welcome the opportunity to showcase new skills and hobbies with our adult students. These courses may consist of one-hour or (one-day) workshops or up to 8 hours total spread out through several weeks.

If you have specific teaching skills, interests, hobbies, or expertise that you would like to share with the community, SVACE would be delighted to have you submit a course proposal. A teaching certificate is not required for Enrichment Classes nor is a CHRC through Maine Department of Education (MDOE) if class is held at one of our offsite locations.

We are also specifically looking for teachers/instructors for the following 2019 Spring Classes:

1. Basic Computer 101
2. CPR/First Aid
3. Dance Instructor(s)
4. Landscaping Workshops
5. Civic Duties & Values (U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights)
6. American History
7. Photography
8. Organic/Raised Beds/Patio Gardening
9. Scrapbooking
10. Woodworking "Build Your Own ?"
11. How to create your own "YouTube" videos
12. How to design your own web-page for your business
13. Spring/Summer Crafts, etc.

Sacopee Valley Adult and Community Education offers a variety courses each term in three program areas: Academic, Vocational, and Enrichment. Our classes are offered in three semesters: fall, winter, and spring/summer. Courses may consist of a one-day workshop or up to 15 weeks or more of instruction. We work in partnership with several area businesses and organizations and hold our classes at several different off-site locations mainly throughout Hiram, Cornish, Baldwin, Porter and Parsonsfield.

Please contact us to receive a course proposal and instructor profile forms. Please complete and submit the forms for review and consideration. If your proposal is viewed as appropriate for SVACE and space is available, you will be contacted for an interview. Proposals are accepted for consideration throughout the year. Due to scheduling deadlines, please be aware that courses for upcoming Spring Courses are due before February 4th 2019.
