I have a breeding pair of Cotton Patch Geese available for sale. They are almost two years old. They are autosexing so you can tell from hatch which ones are females and which are males. This breed is very rare and is listed as critical by The Livestock Conservancy. They were originally raised to weed cotton and corn in the South and are great lawnmowers. We raised this pair by hand and treated them more like puppies or pet chickens. This produced a bit of confusion about what species they are and some aggression developed between the gander and my husband and child. We have decided that they would be better off on a new homestead where they can just be geese. I think they would do well in a flock with other geese. Breeding season is approaching and she will soon be laying eggs. They produced 7 goslings last year.
These guys would make excellent guard geese for deterring unwanted visitors. The gander is loud and intimidating and no car would enter the driveway unnoticed. Foxes stand no chance against these geese. The gander is grumpy and cantankerous and gorgeous. I'm happy to answer any questions to see if these guys might be a good fit for your flock.
I will not respond to messages like: "do u still have the geese"
