I bought this fully carved cello at auction a few years ago thinking I needed to learn another stringed instrument. I've decided this is not the case and so I am selling.
The receipt that came from the original buyer indicates it was purchased new at Vermont Violins in 2006. The instrument is unlabeled, and a local luthier believes it to be of Asian or perhaps Eastern European origin, likely imported and set up then sold by the shop.
They indicate it is a fully carved, intermediate student cello, in very good condition. Their only nit pick is that a seam on the bottom of the instrument could use a bit of glue, and that the endpin doesn't have a stop.
It plays quiet to loud and is voiced rather well for an instrument in this intermediate price range.
Included are a student bow sans case, a rather nice padded cello case, and a student cello book with play along CD and DVD.
Dimensions: Height is 48", 13 3/4" at the upper bout, and 17 1/2" at the lower bout.
Bridge is by Despiau.
Maintained in a climate controlled environment.
Let me know if you have any questions, or if you would like to make an appointment to audition.
Thanks!
