Here we have an exquisitely aged late '60s Gibson J-45ADJ infused with the power of Jesus, having spent much of its life touring the world with a gospel group (a handwritten setlist is included). I acquired from a player outside Kalamazoo (where it was made) who bought it from the original owner who lived in California. The last owner had the original adjustable bridge replaced with a fixed wood and bone one (generally considered an upgrade, but original is included if you're an ADJ purist), and the tuners were replaced long ago with German-made Schallers (top of the line) and they work great. Frets are nice and low; they were polished and crowned before I got it. Includes original Gibson yellow-lined case (!). I had a K&K pure mini installed last year and recorded my recent Mercy Wizard album ("Big Noise" streaming now!) with it and it is a perfect recording guitar. AWESOME in-hand feel, like a perfectly worn-in leather glove. Couldn't ask for a better instrument for strummed vocal accompaniment; it also does the deep woody Gibson finger bass thump exceptionally well. Ultimately it's very similar to my '66 B-25 that I've had for years and in the face of a ballooning collection I can't justify keeping both. If you've been looking for a vintage Gibson strummer for under $4000, here it is!
