This all-mahogany solid-body Martin "O" Style soprano uke plays like a dream! It was apparently built between 1947 and 1956, based on data found in the authoritative book by Tom Walsh and John King titled "The Martin Ukulele". No serial numbers were used by Martin at this time so it is hard to determine the exact year of production. This ukulele is in wonderful condition. The finish is not crazed and there are no cracks or other issues apart from a few very, very small knicks on the back of the head stock, probably from string installation (see pic). The bridge is rosewood and the saddle and nut are ebony. The fretboard is also rosewood. It has the original white-capped Kluson friction tuning pegs. There is no evidence of any repairs. Length is approximately 26 inches. It comes with an original, tan, lightly padded canvas gig bag which is in usable condition (not recommend) and a hardshell case. I would be pleased to answer any questions about this uke and/or provide additional photos. If you are seriously interested, let's meet in Scarborough. Cash or Venmo payment and no returns possible. Sorry, I'm not interested in bartering. This is a beautiful piece of musical history.
